SVBONY SV605CC OSC Camera (Sony IMX533) – Deep Sky Astrophotography

The SVBONY SV605CC is a cooled one-shot colour (OSC) astronomy camera designed specifically for deep sky astrophotography. Built around the highly regarded Sony IMX533 CMOS sensor, it delivers a combination of low read noise, high quantum efficiency, and excellent dynamic range, making it well suited for imaging nebulae, galaxies, and star clusters.

SVBONY SV405CC OSC astronomy camera showing Type-B USB 3.0 high speed data connection for fast deep sky and lunar imaging

A two-stage TEC cooling system allows the sensor temperature to be reduced by up to 30 °C below ambient, significantly lowering thermal noise during long exposures. This results in cleaner data, smoother backgrounds, and improved signal-to-noise performance, particularly important for long integration deep sky imaging.

The SV605CC features fast USB 3.0 data transfer for reliable high-speed image download, along with a large DDR3 buffer to ensure stable capture without dropped frames. An AR-coated sensor window helps reduce internal reflections and light loss, improving contrast and overall image quality.

With support for ROI (Region of Interest) capture, the camera can be optimised for different imaging targets, while its square IMX533 sensor format eliminates amp glow and simplifies framing and processing. The SV605CC is compatible with a wide range of astronomy software and integrates easily into both beginner and advanced imaging setups.
