Description
The filter drawer might appear to be a basic accessory, but Astroasis designed it with careful attention to usability, compatibility, and functionality. It is engineered for convenience, smooth operation, and excellent aesthetics.
Features
M54, M48, and M42 are common thread standards used throughout astrophotography gear. Because so many devices use different thread sizes, compatibility can become challenging.
This filter drawer solves that problem: each side of the drawer can be configured as any of the following—M54/M48/M42, male or female—depending on your setup. This means the drawer can connect to almost any modern astrophotography camera or telescope without needing separate drawers for different threads.
The package includes a drawer frame, filter slider, six thread rings and a ring-loosen tool. The base set includes the drawer frame, filter slider and tool, while the rings are optional add-ons.
The rings come in two types:
M-type rings: Configure the drawer’s thread as male—generally used on the camera side.
F-type rings: Configure the drawer’s thread as female—generally used on the telescope side.
These rings allow you to create any of the following threads on each side: M42, M48, or M54, male or female. You can even set both sides as male or both as female if needed.

All rings except F-54 attach to the drawer frame using standard threads. F-54 is a drop-in ring and simply slots into place when a female M54 thread is required.

Comfort & Ease of Use
Two pairs of strong neodymium magnets ensure the slider locks firmly into place with no need for screws or clamps. The extended handle makes the slider easy to remove and insert in the dark.
A supplied ring-loosen tool helps remove tight rings effortlessly, preventing stuck threads without needing pliers or wrenches.
The entire system requires no screws for assembly or adjustment, making it extremely fast and convenient to use.
