Designed for Astrophotography Guiding

SVBONY SV198 50mm mini guide scope used for astrophotography guiding

The SV198 is optimised for use with small guide cameras, providing stable, well-defined guide stars for accurate tracking during long exposures.

Fine Focusing & Optical Control

SVBONY SV198 guide scope fine focusing mechanism

The fine focusing system enables precise adjustment, improving star sharpness and reducing guiding errors. This is especially valuable when working with sensitive guide cameras and narrow depth of focus.

Camera & Eyepiece Compatibility

SVBONY SV198 guide scope with M42 extension tube

A 1.25-inch eyepiece holder with T2 (M42) threading provides broad compatibility with guide cameras and accessories. With the supplied 45 mm extension tube, the SV198 works with many popular guide cameras, including SVBONY SV905C, SV305, and similar models.

Without the extension tube fitted, the guide scope can also be used with standard 1.25-inch eyepieces for basic visual observing or finder-style use.

Internal Blackening & Contrast Control

SVBONY SV198 guide scope internal blackened optics

Internal blackening and optical baffling reduce reflective interference and stray light, improving contrast and overall guiding reliability.

Typical Use Cases

  • Autoguiding for deep-sky astrophotography
  • Medium-to-long focal length imaging setups
  • Portable imaging rigs needing brighter guide stars
  • Optional visual use with 1.25-inch eyepieces
