The SVBONY SV238 Off-Axis Guider (OAG) is engineered for astrophotographers who demand precise guiding on long-focal-length telescopes. Its large 8×14 mm prism and adjustable design deliver a wider guide field and a higher guide-star success rate, even in sparse star fields.
-
Large prism design: 8×14 mm prism captures more starlight for easier guide-star acquisition.
-
Adjustable prism height: Precisely align with different cameras and telescopes for optimal performance.
-
Dual helical focuser: Smooth, backlash-free focusing with secure lock to prevent star blur.
-
Robust CNC-machined body: Resists temperature shifts and deformation for consistent results.
-
Wide compatibility: M54, M48, and M42 threads; compatible with APS-C and smaller sensors.
Guiding with an OAG eliminates flexure and differential movement common in separate guide scopes, producing pinpoint, round stars on every exposure—perfect for deep-sky imaging with SCTs, RCs, and other long-focal-length instruments.
SV238 Off-Axis Guider
The OAG intercepts a small portion of the telescope’s focal plane (outside the main camera’s field) to lock onto a guide star. Any movement seen by the guide star is the exact movement seen by the imaging camera—correcting tracking errors and flexure for better astro-images.
Large 8×14 mm Prism
Captures more starlight and provides a wider guide field for easier guide-star acquisition in sparse fields.
Adjustable Prism Height
Fine-tune the prism position to capture bright guide stars and avoid ghosting in the primary camera.
Dual Helical Focuser
Ultra-fine, backlash-free focusing of the guide camera for accurate long-exposure tracking.
CNC-Machined Unibody
High-precision aluminum construction resists temperature shifts and field abuse for long-term reliability.
Wide Thread Support
M54, M48 & M42 adapters connect seamlessly to most cameras and telescope systems.
