SkyEye24AC Cooled Colour Astronomy Camera

The SkyEye24AC from ToupTek Astro is a premium full-frame one-shot-colour (OSC) camera designed for deep-sky astrophotography. Built around Sony’s highly regarded IMX410 back-illuminated sensor, the SkyEye24AC delivers 6064 × 4040 resolution, exceptional low-noise performance, and an ultra-clean signal thanks to its advanced cooling and hardware architecture. This makes it an outstanding choice for wide-field nebulae, large galaxies, mosaics, and full-frame optical systems.

Sony IMX410 Full-Frame Sensor

At the heart of the SkyEye24AC is the IMX410 – a 24.2MP, back-illuminated, full-frame CMOS sensor widely regarded for its superb quantum efficiency, low dark current, and ultra-clean image structure. The large 5.94µm pixels deliver high dynamic range and excellent performance under both broadband and narrowband filters.

Combined with ToupTek’s camera electronics and native 14-bit ADC architecture, the SkyEye24AC produces beautifully clean data with well-preserved highlights and smooth gradients — essential for natural-looking nebulae and broadband RGB imaging.

Advanced Two-Stage TEC Cooling

The camera features a highly efficient two-stage thermoelectric cooler paired with an optimised heat-dissipation design. This allows the IMX410 sensor to operate up to 40°C below ambient, ensuring clean long exposures even in warm climates.

The low-temperature stability dramatically reduces dark current and noise, making the SkyEye24AC suitable for long integrations, narrowband imaging, and multi-hour sessions.

High-Speed DDR3 Buffer

A built-in DDR3 memory buffer ensures smooth, loss-free data transmission over USB3, preventing frame drops and maintaining reliability — especially important during long exposures or when controlling multiple devices on a single USB hub.

Mechanical Design & Connectivity

The SkyEye24AC features a robust, CNC-machined body with multiple mounting options and a fully sealed sensor chamber. The front window includes anti-dew heating to maintain clear optics during long overnight imaging sessions.
