Unlocking astronomy, for each of us
Unistellar’s smart telescope design makes it possible for stargazers around the world to explore the wonders of the Universe from their backyards (even in light polluted skies), without prior experience.
Powered by Unistellar’s proprietary technologies (Enhanced Vision, Automated Field Detection, Light Pollution Reduction), the eVscope 2 is the most powerful consumer space instrument and offers a new user-friendly experience of deep-sky exploration. With unmatched speed and accuracy, the telescope reveals galaxies, nebulae, comets and other celestial objects millions of light-years away with unparalleled colors and details – even from the heart of a city.
New hobbyists can discover astronomy and grow their skills with an outstanding yet user-friendly device, while advanced astronomers benefit from a portable device that can quickly hop from one object to the next as well as collect valuable scientific data that help mankind’s understanding of space. Outreach professionals and educators can delight audiences with fast, sharp and colorful views of the Universe.

Discover the beauty and secrets of the Universe
The low-light, high-resolution sensor captures light from objects located millions of light-years from Earth, and delivers pin-sharp image definition and a wide field of view. Using cutting-edge technologies (Enhanced Vision and Super Resolution), the eVscope 2 reveals deep-sky objects in seconds and allows observers to enjoy, with crisp details, colossal space objects like the majestic Orion nebula.
Out-of-this-world observing experience in partnership with Nikon
A defining feature of the eVscope 2 is the electronic eyepiece, developed by Nikon: the combination of a best-in-class micro OLED screen, designed to enhance contrast and deliver a perfect black image, and a sophisticated array of lenses, sourced from Nikon’s expert optical labs. The new eyepiece delivers a captivating, immersive observation with rich contrast, with better observing comfort and eye-relief.

Enhanced Vision - 100x more powerful than a regular telescope
Enhanced Vision is a patented proprietary technology that allows a live observation of faint objects thanks to the live accumulation of the light we receive from them. Galaxies, nebulae and comets finally become visible, colourful and detailed.
Depending on the observing conditions (light pollution, moon phase, weather, etc…) and the objects you are pointing at, it can take from a few seconds to several tens of seconds for you to start seeing the beautiful colours and shapes of galaxies and nebulae normally invisible, even through the eyepiece of a large conventional telescope.
Autonomous Field Detection - smartest, most accurate autonomous pointing-and-tracking software in its class
The eVscope 2 ensures more time exploring space and less time setting up or calibrating. Our system instantly recognizes the objects in its field of view by comparing what it sees with a coordinates database of tens of millions of stars. This allows the eVscope 2 automated tracking and pointing system to be extremely accurate and easy to use, making it by far the most user-friendly telescope on the market.
Autonomous Field Detection also allows it to inform you about what you are observing (distance from the Earth, etc.).
Smart Light Pollution Reduction - urban space-lovers to finally enjoy astronomy.
Light pollution renders celestial objects invisible to the human eye and conventional ‘direct-view’ telescopes, because the human brain cannot filter, process and prioritize light sources. Even cameras and computers are challenged by light pollution, which creates “noise” on images, blurs objects and distorts shapes. It can be challenging or impossible to create crisp, beautiful images when you are faced with light pollution.
Unistellar’s proprietary software mitigates the impact of light pollution and allows for distant objects to be observed in crisp detail, even from bright inner-city environments. For each observation, Unistellar’s technology swiftly identifies background light, then automatically filters and removes this unwanted light, delivering the best possible image parameters and results. Users benefit from more precise images with better contrasts and colors, regardless of the level of brightness of the sky (urban light pollution, moonlight).
Powerful scientific device with a global community of observers
Because the eVscope 2 can be used to conduct valuable space science, with every new user comes a new Space Explorer, fueling Unistellar’s evermore powerful global array of connected telescopes, each capable of delivering scientifically valuable observations. Partnering up with astronomers from the SETI Institute and other institutions, Unistellar Explorers can protect Earth by detecting a hazardous asteroid, discover and confirm the existence of a hot Jupiter around a distant star, or even uncover the mysteries of a comet or supernova.
As part of the Unistellar Network – the first global community of connected telescope users, 5 000 strong and counting – users get to exchange in dialogue with professional astronomers and space aficionados. Hear about projections, plan observations, get help capturing a target, and receive actionable tips for collecting and submitting data. Learn about light curves and data modelling, have their observations confirmed, and see their data put into action through charts, visuals and even 3D prints.
A dedicated app, mission control for your outer space explorations
With the push of a button and tap of the app, your eVscope 2 recommends the most spectacular targets and launches into deep-space observations, in minutes.
With a catalogue of over 5 000 objects to choose from, use the app to learn about and identify cosmic objects, including which objects are ideal for viewing from your location. Save and share your experience with others – in person or virtually – with your connected tech.
The Unistellar app provides captivating educational content and automates your observing experience, so that novices can enjoy their device right away. The app also offers manual controls for advanced users.
Bespoke transportation backpack
Carefully designed to fit snuggly to the eVscope 2, and of a similar size to a 50L hiking backpack, a the Unistellar backpack makes it extremely easily to transport both the eVscope 2 and its tripod, allowing astronomy to become nomadic.
The backpack is made of tough reinforced fabric, and carefully padded with high-density foam to protect the telescope from any shock. It also includes a removable rain shield.
