The Vaonis Vespera Dual Band Filter is a high-performance dual narrowband interference filter designed to significantly enhance astrophotography results, whether observing from urban locations or pristine dark skies.

By precisely isolating the Hydrogen Alpha (H-alpha) and Oxygen III (O-III) wavelengths commonly found in nebulae, this filter increases contrast between celestial objects and the sky background. The result is sharper stars, finer structures, and higher-quality astronomical images.
- Significantly improves astrophotography image quality
- Optimised for nebula and deep-sky imaging
- Enhances contrast between sky background and stellar objects
- Refines star sharpness and fine details
Filter Description

The Dual Band Filter selectively transmits only two essential emission lines to the Vespera sensor:
- Oxygen III (O-III)
- Hydrogen Alpha (H-alpha)
This wavelength selectivity makes the filter particularly effective for imaging emission nebulae, dark nebulae rich in hydrogen, planetary nebulae, and supernova remnants. It also improves star definition when observing globular clusters.
Typical compatible targets include emission nebulae, planetary nebulae, supernova remnants, and hydrogen-rich dark nebulae.

Designed Specifically for Vespera
The Dual Band Filter maintains full optical aperture without affecting the telescope’s effective diameter.
An integrated electronic micro-card allows the Vespera observation station to automatically detect the filter and adapt its observation and image-processing parameters accordingly.
Transmission Characteristics
The filter features a bandwidth of 12 nm for each transmission window:
- O-III: 500.7 nm
- H-alpha: 656.3 nm
